telephone operator Job description Telephone operator (3 vacancies) Gandeeray has been contracted to set up a toll free telephone line with a three digit shortcode to make it possible for the population to engage and communicate with local government in Sarkani District of Kunar Province. The phoneline will be used to discuss local issues and grievances. This is a direct means of reaching people who might not be accessible via any other means. we are making it possible to engage more fully in civic activities and the democratic process, and help in the development process. The telephone line will be used along with community radio. Interested candidates should contact Ajmal Shinwari, before February 13th , on 0700198900 to arrange for an interview. Candidate are required to be fluent in pashto, basic english and some computer literacy. The contract period is for four months, with possible extension. Telephone operator (3 vacancies) 1. Attend the toll-free line and respond to incoming phone call for 15 weeks - work every day from 2pm to 10 pm; 2. To receive training about the specificities of Sarkani district; 3. To recieve training to a specific telephone interview technique; 4. Work with a database for collecting and conveying information between the citizens and local governor; 5. provide daily reports on phone calls received and made to project manager; 6. Prepre reports for project manager to convey feedback from the community to government but also technical information about the phone calls;
