Supply Technician, Shipping and Packing Supervisor

The Shipping and Packing Supervisor will report directly to the Warehouse Specialist. The Shipping and Packing Supervisor will have a vast knowledge of military shipping and packing processes and procedures.
The Supply Shipping and Packing Technician will provide daily briefings to the Warehouse Specialist to describe ongoing operations and advise the Warehouse Specialist on any issues that require the Warehouse Specialist’s attention or resolution from Project Management.
The Supply Shipping and Packing Technician will write SOPs for all issuing operations and provide training to all Shipping and Packing Functional Area personnel that will give the staff the necessary knowledge and processes to follow so that all requirements outlined in the APLs are met or exceeded.
The Supply Shipping and Packing Technician will appoint a team to properly complete labeling actions when materials are prepared for shipment.
The Supply Shipping and Packing Technician will monitor packing material stocks, such as wood, fiberboard, wooden pallets and packing tape to ensure that stocks do not reach a critical state and operations will not be hindered due to materials not being on-hand.

The Supply Shipping and Packing Technician will coordinate with the HAZMAT Handler Specialist to obtain proper training for all Shipping and Packing personnel on the proper procedures for shipping, packing and labeling HAZMAT materials designated for shipments.

The Supply Shipping and Packing Technician, working in conjunction with the Traffic Management Department, will consolidate materials going to the same location to reduce transportations costs as much as reasonably possible. The shipment of priority requests, such as NMCS/PMCS and NORS/ANORS should not be consolidated with non-priority shipments due to the different priorities and delivery times required.

The Supply Shipping and Receiving Technician will enforce the Wood Packing Material (WPM) program and ensure that the wood used to manufacture crates for shipping materials meet the requirements set forth in this program.
