| Traffic Management Specialist The Traffic Management Specialist will be experienced in aspects of cargo movement, both by means of military or civilian resources, hazardous cargo materials preparation and the DSS and other Government Furnished Data Systems. The Traffic Management Specialist reports directly to the Site Manager. The Traffic Management Specialist will coordinate cargo movements, whether it is by land or air, with the appropriate military Logistics and Cargo Planning Specialists to schedule movement of cargo to respective units across the southern region of Afghanistan. The Traffic Management Specialist prepares all manifest documentation for cargo shipped from Kandahar and provides the documentation to appropriate military authorities. The Traffic Management Specialist will train personnel in the Shipping and Packing Department on the proper method of configuring materials on aircraft cargo pallets (463L) so pallets are accepted by military aircraft crew chiefs for loading onto aircraft... There are many methods to securing cargo on the 463L pallet, all depending on the shape and configuration of the load. The Traffic Management Specialist will train personnel on all types of configurations. The Traffic Management Specialist is required to train all Shipping and Packing personnel how to package Hazardous Materials in accordance Defense Logistics Agency Directive (DLAD) 4145.41, Packaging of Hazardous Material and Defense Logistics Agency Instruction (DLAI) 4145.3 and any other directives, manuals and instructions that apply to the packaging and shipment of hazardous material. The Traffic Management Specialist will update the DSS system on all cargo movements and supervise data entry personnel who also will be responsible to update the systems. The Traffic Management Specialist will establish an inbound and outbound truck control system and ensure that the system is updated in real time. | |
